5Km Every Day in May

This May, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist Dr. Micheál (Mike) Taylor is taking on the “5K Every Day in May” fundraising challenge to support Dravet Syndrome UK, a vital charity offering hope and support to families affected by one of the most complex and life-limiting forms of epilepsy.

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: Dr. Mike Taylor’s 5K Every Day in May Challenge for Dravet Syndrome UK 🏃‍♂️💜

Dr. Taylor—who cares for many young patients living with Dravet Syndrome through his work at Leeds General Infirmary, Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital, and Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast—will be running 5K every single day in May.

“As someone who works closely with children and families living with Dravet Syndrome, I see first-hand the incredible strength it takes to manage the daily challenges that come with this diagnosis,” said Dr. Taylor. “Taking on this challenge is a small gesture compared to what these families face—but one I hope will help make a meaningful difference.”

Dravet Syndrome is a rare and complex genetic epilepsy that begins in infancy and is associated with frequent, prolonged seizures, developmental delays, and significant health risks. DSUK plays a critical role in providing specialist support and advocating for better care, understanding, and research.

Dr. Taylor, a well-respected figure in the field of paediatric neurology, is calling on colleagues, patients, and the wider community to support his challenge by donating via his fundraising page.
